We are once again proud to endorse Ricki Ruiz for Oregon House District 50. We first supported Ricki for his successful re-election campaign to Reynolds School Board in 2019. As an organization who has worked closely with Ricki, we have seen him working hard to improve the lives of our working families throughout East County for the past four years. We are energized to support him again in his re-election for his State Representative race.
As one of Oregon’s youngest state legislators, a lifelong community organizer and resident of Rockwood, Rep. Ruiz has made significant contributions to public education, healthcare, affordable housing and public safety. He has also worked towards creating safe recreational spaces for our youth and community, co-founding the Rockwood Initiative. This community-based organization focuses on youth recreation and free sports tournament events that brought the first futsal courts to Gresham’s Rockwood neighborhood.
