Today, we’re excited to feature another set of qualified, diverse leaders championing a better East County: Andrea Valderrama for House District #47, Duncan Hwang for Metro Council District 6, and James Manning for Secretary of State.
As the first Peruvian American legislator, Rep. Valderrama has championed racial, economic, disability, climate, and gender justice throughout her tenure. With over a decade of experience in coalition-building, grassroots organizing, and policy-making, she has successfully passed meaningful legislation, including tuition equity and sanctuary laws. Andrea’s re-election means continued advocacy for systemic change and opportunities for all House District #47 residents.
With Duncan on the Metro Council, voters can expect continued progress in affordable housing, transportation safety, and fiscal responsibility. From reducing the tax burden on local businesses to spearheading public health and economic recovery, Duncan has consistently prioritized our community’s diverse needs while ensuring government accountability and transparency.
As a veteran, community leader, and state senator, Sen. Manning’s efforts to reform our criminal justice system, ensure equitable access to healthcare, and combat gun violence underscore his advocacy for a safer, fairer, and more just Oregon In the coming elections, he will continue to advocate for the well-being and rights of all Oregonians as Secretary of State.
